Whats Hot This Spring/Summer?

- Timeless Skin, no caked on foundation.  Sheer Foundation and Tinted Moisturizer are perfect for our rising temperatures.  Blush is a feature this season.  Contour with peachy orangey blush and finish with bronzer for that healthy, flushed sun kissed glow.

Tip: Apply your foundation in the centre of your face, as this is usually where you are needing the most coverage and blend the product outward for a natural look.

- Focus is on your Brows, bold but feminine.  Let your brows frame your face and make a statement.

 Colours this Season?

Pastels, Warm oranges, peaches and coral are big on eyes this season, along with natural pink shades on your lips to compliment your skin tone.

What will be hot this Spring/Summer?

Retro Styles – seventies curls and messy buns are still present in fashion, although worn very high on the head.

What’s your favorite look at the moment?

The tied dyed look is still really edgy, Rihanna has been rocking it recently in her ‘Air’ music video with Nicki minaj.

Colors that will be in?

White blondes mixed with golden blonde tones. Chocolate is mixed with vanilla blondes and deep sapphire blues with licorice black.

Cut’s for the season?

Short cuts this season are very Vidal Sassoon inspired, with blunt fringe. Long hairstyles are cut to a point with long layers.

What are the key trends for Spring?

Mixed up prints:
Mixing up prints like wearing florals with spots or stripes and mixing up tops and bottoms.

Block Colour
: The trick with block colour is to keep shapes simple. Nude shoes work well with this look. If your main colour is neutral add a pop of colour with accessories such as bangles, handbags or shoes

Lovely Lace: Lace is wonderfully feminine and has made a welcome return to stores. Bold jewellery and lace work together well. Lace and jeans looks absolutely fab.

White Wash
: Make the most of fabulous white, it always looks fresh and spunky. White and nude/neutrals work well. A classic white tee or shirt equals enduring style.

Go Metal: Add some metallic accessories to really shine. Metallic wedges rock with prints/brights and flared pants. Remember white above? Jazz it up with some chains – nice.

Sensational Seventies: Another hot look for the season is a nod to the seventies. Picture one piece jumpsuits and crocheted cardies.

High Waisted and Palazzo pants
: High-waisted flared pants and wide-legged palazzo pants are huge. They look great with a heel and a skinny belt.

Photoshoot – behind the scenes!

Arriving at the beautiful house in St Mary’s bay on a cold cloudy day we were greeted warmly by the darling grandma who owned the house.

We went into the room that we were shooting our first shots in, most of the photography equipment and furniture had already been set up the night before   so we were all ready we just had to do test shots for the lighting and wait for our model.

The amazing model Emily arrived and then she was straight off into hair and make-up. Kyla the hair stylist created a gorgeous 1960′s beehive hair style and Astrid the makeup artist created a classic yet elegant 1960′s style also. Fitted into her first dress (supplied by the Little white dress) Emily was back off down stairs so we could begin shooting.

After about and hour and a half and many photos later we had the shots that we needed and it was time to pack everything away back in the car, it was like a game of tetris! We had an amazing lunch made lovingly by Ange which fuelled us all up, and then it was time to jump back into the car and drive across town to Hotel Debretts.

Once we got there we were greeted by very helpful staff members who helped us load all our equipment and lighting gear into the elevator and take it all to our hotel suite. Once in the suite Becky and I had to start setting all the equipment back up again and Iet me tell you it was pretty tricky with the tight spaces and spiral staircase! Once we had it all set up however, Tracey had arrived with the rest of the team to complete the set up and make the final adjustments.

Emily was whisked away to change into another gorgeous dress. After a few photos and a couple of adjustments we had the right photo we wanted, and it was time for our third shoot, Emily was all changed into her third dress then it was off back down the stairs to the dining room. It had an real homely vibe to it surrounded by couches and a very scorching fire place, it was like summer hit us! After shuffling around some furniture we began shooting, and before you knew it we had the perfect photo and it was time to pack everything up for the last time and take it back up the stairs to the room for us to set up for the fourth and final shoot in the bathroom.

Whilst our model was getting her final hair and make up change we were setting up the lighting and photo equipment, then pop…it went dark, we had managed to overload a power box and the power to the room went out. Luckily with the brain power of 5 girls we got it sorted and began shooting. I was standing in the bathtub holding the “Snoot” light I watched the model glow, giggle and smile as Tracey worked her magic.

Before you knew it we had achieved all of the shots we needed for the day and it was time to pack everything up, We amazingly ran perfectly to time for the day and we were finished by 5:30pm.
